With an authentic European aesthetic and bold French menu inspiration, we are committed to fresh seasonality made possible by our close proximity to local neighboring New Jersey farms. So disappointed. A restaurant that costs over $100/person should give us a warm and happy glow after a delicious meal. RATS failed in food and service. We were seated at a lovely location on the patio overlooking Grounds for Sculpture. The waiter took our drink order and left us to read the small menu. There are about 10 choices for apps and ten for entrees. My lovely partner was celebrating her birthday (in two days). Thankfully we can go have a quality meal elsewhere. Her onion soup was tasty but not the quality we've enjoyed in France. My cerviche was covered in corn nuts and jalapeño slices. Meh. It was a tasty dish after I disposed of CORN NUTS and pepper slices. My partner was served duck, a nice portion. Unfortunately, it tasted very gamey. She eats duck wherever we find it so she knows her duck. She doesn't like to send food back. She ate the roll of duck comfit such was tasty. There was no vegetable. They want you to spend another $15 over the $50 entree price. I had ordered mussels as the chef refused to make the fish I ordered which was shrimp and another shellfish. It was menued with a pasta which I can't eat. I asked for a vegetable but the chef refused to make it with

We really enjoyed our experience at Rat’s Restaurant. The setting is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and romantic, with plenty of shaded areas to walk around and explore before or after dinner. We had the rack of lamb, coffee-crusted bone-in beef short rib, and Dubai chocolate tart. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, with colorful and creative plates that almost looked too good to eat. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was friendly, polite, and helpful with recommendations. Our waitress, Hailey, was great and took wonderful care of us. Great food, beautiful surroundings, and excellent service. Definitely a memorable experience!

I was extremely disappointed with the food. The biggest issue was that it was not fresh. The lettuce in the salad was already wilted and rotten, which is completely unacceptable. Serving spoiled vegetables raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s food quality and food safety. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, and the front desk staff were friendly. However, none of that makes up for serving rotten salad. On top of that, a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill, making the overall experience even more disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant unless they significantly improve the freshness and quality of their food.

Stunning Grounds and Excellent Service, but the Food Falls Seriously Short for the Price I have very mixed feelings about my dining experience at Rat's Restaurant. On the positive side, the atmosphere and the surrounding environment are absolutely beautiful. There is a vast, peaceful, and beautifully shaded area to walk around and explore both before and after your meal, creating an incredibly relaxing environment. Additionally, the service was top-notch. The staff members were exceptionally polite, well-spoken, and provided excellent recommendations throughout the evening. However, the biggest letdown was the food. While the presentation was colorful, artistic, and visually stunning on the plate, the actual taste fell completely flat. The flavors simply did not pass the bar. When you are paying premium prices—with a dinner bill easily crossing over $500 for a group—you expect the culinary experience to match the gorgeous ambiance. Unfortunately, the taste just did not justify the heavy price tag. It is a wonderful place for the scenery and great hospitality, but the kitchen definitely needs to step up its game to match the execution of the rest of the venue.

Beautiful grounds, but a letdown for a special family lunch If you are planning a celebratory event here, be warned. We came to Rat's for a high school graduation lunch, and the experience did not match the high price tag. The Food: Tiny lunch portions and totally average flavors. For what they charge, you expect something memorable, but the food was completely mediocre. The Service: Our waiter was friendly but incredibly forgetful. We had to constantly track things down, which took away from the celebratory mood. When you're paying top dollar to celebrate a milestone, you expect attentive service and great food. We left feeling shortchanged.
